## Create your Receipto account

Welcome to Receipto. In this video, we'll create your account and verify your email, so you can start organizing your receipts. On the login screen, tap Sign Up.

Enter your full name and the email address you want to use for Receipto. Use an inbox you can access, because you'll need to open a verification email.

Create a password with at least six characters, then enter it again in Confirm Password. Both entries must match. Review your details, and tap Create Account.

When you see Check your inbox, open your email and follow the verification link. If the message hasn't arrived, check your spam or junk folder. Complete this step before trying to sign in.

Return to Receipto and sign in with the same email address and password. Your next step is to add your first receipt. You can follow our Sign In and Add Your First Receipt videos for a guided introduction.

## Sign in with confidence

Welcome back. To sign in to Receipto, enter the email address you used when creating your account. If you've just signed up, complete the email verification step first.

Enter your password, then tap Login. You can use the eye icon to check your entry before continuing. For this demonstration, the password stays hidden.

Once you're signed in, the bottom navigation gives you access to Receipts, Add Receipt, Inbox, Reports, and Account. To capture a paper receipt or upload a saved image, choose Add Receipt.

If you can't remember your password, return to the login screen and tap Forgot Password. Enter your registered email address and tap Send Link. Open the email and follow the link to choose a new password.

After resetting your password, return to the login screen and sign in with your new password. If sign in fails, check your email address and password, and read the message shown by the app before trying again.

## Add your first receipt

Let's add your first receipt. Open Add Receipt. You can scan a paper receipt with Take Photo, upload saved images with Choose from Photos, or type the details with Enter Manually. Digital receipts can also be forwarded through Inbox.

For a paper receipt, tap Take Photo. On your first scan, read the Scan Instructions and tap Got it, Start Scanning. Allow camera access if prompted. Place one receipt at a time on a dark, flat surface, with good lighting and no glare.

Keep the full receipt inside the camera view. The scanner can detect the edges and crop the image. Check that the store name, date, and total are readable before completing the scan. The native scanner controls may vary with your iOS version.

Back in Review Queue, remove any unwanted scan. Tap Scan More if you've another receipt to add. When the queue looks correct, tap Confirm, followed by the number of receipts. Receipto will upload and process the selected scans.

For receipts already saved on your phone, choose Choose from Photos. Select one or more receipt images and complete the photo picker. Receipto processes the selected images automatically. Use clear, complete images so the details are easy to read.

To type a receipt yourself, tap Enter Manually. Enter the Store Name, Date, Total, and Category. Use month, day, and year for the date, and a total greater than zero. The receipt date can't be in the future. Tags are optional.

Tap Save Receipt to save your manual entry. For scanned or uploaded receipts, wait for processing and check the result. If Receipto asks you to Check Details, review the highlighted fields and use Save and Continue after correcting them.

Email forwarding is another way to add receipts, including supported PDF and image attachments. Open Inbox and copy your unique address, then forward the receipt from your email app. Our Email Receipts video explains the full process. You've now seen every receipt entry method available in this app.

## Add receipts from your email

You can add a digital receipt by forwarding it to Receipto. First, check that the correct account is active. If you use a shared account, open Account, choose Switch Account, and select the account that should receive the receipt.

Open Inbox and find Your Unique Inbox Address under Email Forwarding. Tap the copy icon. Always copy the address from the app: the address shown on screen is shortened, and a shared account uses a different destination from your personal account.

In your email app, forward the receipt and paste the copied address into the recipient field. Include the receipt as a PDF, JPEG, or PNG attachment. Check that the attachment is included before sending. This example uses fictional details.

Return to Inbox and pull down to refresh. Pending or Extraction means the receipt is still being processed. When View Receipt is available, open it and review the extracted details. Importing a receipt does not by itself mean it has synced to an accounting service.

If the import fails, read the reason. If there was no attachment, forward the email again with the receipt attached. If Reprocess Message is available, you can retry the existing message. Review a duplicate warning before adding the same receipt again.

## Review and organize your receipts

A quick review helps keep your receipt records accurate. Open Receipts and select a receipt. After an upload, you can also use Check Details when the app asks you to review information.

Compare the details with the receipt image or original document. Check the Store Name, Amount, and Date. Correct any missing or inaccurate values, and use month, day, and year for the date.

Choose or type a Category that describes the expense. Add optional Tags to make the receipt easier to organize. If you use more than one tag, separate them with commas. Review any suggestions before applying them.

When the details are correct, tap Save and Continue. If the app highlights an issue, update the affected field and save again. If Remember this for next time appears, choose Remember to reuse the setup, or Not now to continue without saving that preference.

Pay attention to review and duplicate warnings. They help you decide what needs checking. In a shared account, a receipt may open as Read Only, depending on your role and who added it. Ask an account administrator if you need help correcting a receipt you can't edit.

## Set up a shared account

A shared account helps a household or business keep receipts together. Open Account, then tap Create Shared Account. In this walkthrough, we'll create a household account using fictional demonstration details.

Choose Household for family expenses, or Business for your small business. Enter an Account Name, such as Taylor Household, then tap Create Account. Wait for the success message and tap OK.

Creating an account does not automatically switch you into it. Return to Account, tap Switch Account, and select your new shared account. Look for Active beside its name before adding receipts or inviting members.

With the shared account active, open Account, then Manage Members. Tap Invite New Member. Enter the email address of the person you want to invite, and choose their role.

Choose Member for someone who needs to view and contribute receipts. Choose Admin for someone who should also manage the team and account settings. Check the email address and tap Send Invitation. The invitation appears as Pending until it's accepted.

The invited person opens the invitation link from their email. They need to sign in, or create and verify a Receipto account, using the invited email address. If they opened the link before signing in, they should open it again after signing in. Then tap Accept when Receipto asks to confirm.

After accepting, select the shared account in Switch Account and confirm that it's Active. The account owner can return to Manage Members to check membership. Both people can now work in the shared account, with access based on their roles.

Before adding each receipt, confirm that the intended account is active. For email receipts, copy the inbox address while that shared account is selected. To return to your own receipts later, use Switch Account and select your personal account. Your shared account is ready.
